High school sports scout, recruiting consultant, writer, coach, and mental performance professional with experience evaluating athletes from the youth level through college.
The Story
Scout. Coach. Consultant. Counselor.
Coach Fish began his scouting career as a football talent scout working with an NFL agent, where he evaluated football prospects and worked with college athletes pursuing opportunities at the professional level. That experience helped develop his understanding of talent evaluation, athletic measurables, film study, player development, and the characteristics that separate athletes as they progress to higher levels of competition.
Coach Fish later expanded his scouting and evaluation work into the high school sports landscape. He has covered and evaluated athletes as a scout and writer for Prep Girls Hoops and Prep Hoops, while also contributing coverage within competitive soccer. His experience includes attending high school, club, showcase, and national events to identify emerging prospects, evaluate under-the-radar talent, and provide insight into athlete development and college recruiting.
As the founder of Coach Fish Recruiting & Academic Scholarships, Coach Fish works directly with student-athletes and families navigating the college recruiting process. His approach goes beyond athletic ability and exposure, emphasizing academics, communication with college programs, honest evaluations of an athlete’s potential level, and finding the right overall college fit. His work has allowed him to build relationships with college coaches and programs across multiple sports and levels of competition.

Coach Fish also brings extensive coaching and athlete-development experience. He has coached youth and high school basketball, directed competitive club basketball programs, provided speed and skills training, and worked with athletes on the mental side of performance.
His educational background in psychology and clinical mental health counseling provides another dimension to his work with athletes, particularly in the areas of confidence, resilience, motivation, pressure, identity, and mental performance.

What Athletes and Families Say
In the fall of my son’s senior year, it became apparent that we were a little behind in getting my son lined up to play college football (definitely an understatement). The biggest challenge that we had was not knowing what to do, who to contact, the steps involved, etc. My son has played football for 10+ years, so we knew we had a chance, we just didn’t know what to do. Not long after, we began to consider what we should be doing, until we were contacted by Terrell. Terrell basically offered to get my son noticed by colleges looking for football players. My son is a slightly better than average football player, but has average grades, so we were willing to listen. Terrell helped my son create a profile, and showed us how to utilize film. Terrell acted as a broker in helping promote my son in designated areas. This was all done for a nominal fee that was easy to process, and not long after, we gave Terrell the OK to move forward. Terrell worked with my son closely, and coached him through the process. I am happy to say that after a few months of being part of the program, my son is getting an average of 2–3 calls and emails per week from prospective coaches looking for football players. These are all legitimate contacts from good schools. Thanks to Coach Fish, we are progressing well towards getting my son enrolled in a good football college.

Coach Fish Recruiting works with serious student-athletes and families who want guidance navigating the college recruiting process. We’re based in Arizona and work with athletes across the country.
